My healing practice, much like me, has evolved over the years.

But one thing has stayed the same: I like working on the big complex problems that scare most people. A through theme here is helping people process what I call “Lifequakes”.

Once upon a time that looked like the dramatic, physical kinds of trauma that you see in the Emergency Department. Now it looks like helping heal the invisible scars — the deep psychological wounds from unintegrated pain. I’ll give you a guess which one is more of a challenge.

Whether it’s building ambulance systems in rural Madagascar or developing trauma healing protocols for physicians, I love pushing boundaries to build things that help humanity in new and exciting ways.

My obsession with health began at age 12. My early childhood was filled with doctor’s appointments, hospital visits for sick relatives, and funerals. Illness surrounded me from a young age, and I became determined to do everything in my power to understand it—and prevent it from becoming the fate of both me, my loved ones, and anyone who would listen.

The next thirty years would turn out to be a grand exploration of what it means to heal, the best methods for doing so, and all the ways we can do it better—both systemically and as individuals.
